Construction Fire Safety Advisor Service

CONSTRUCTION FIRE SAFETY MANAGEMENT

Contractors are required both by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 [Regulations 38 to 41] to manage fire safety on construction site.

Fire safety in timber frame structure is included in the HSE's current plan of work and recent HSE enforcement activity indicates that fire safety enforcement on construction site is an important issue for the HSE.

Despite this knowledge of construction site fire safety management in the construction industry is not as good as it should be.

Although much of what you need to know to manage fire safety in construction is set out in the HSG168 Fire safety in construction it is difficult without additional knowledge or training to undertake an effective fire risk assessment just by using the guide.
