ASBESTOS AWARENESS TRAINING

DESIGNED FOR

Asbestos awareness training aimed at people whose work involves interaction with the fabric and services of buildings that may contain asbestos containing materials. It is based on risk management materials produced by the HSE, with additional legal and practical guidance.  It will ensure that duty holders are aware of their responsibilities under the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations (CAWR) 2002.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course trainees will:

a) know their legal duties;

b) the consequences of exposure to asbestos;

c) have an awareness of what materials may contain asbestos and what they look like.

d) what action to take before starting any work that may disturb asbestos in a building that may contain asbestos;

e) what action to take when they discover a material that may contain asbestos;

• Setting the Scene - Asbestos Facts;
• The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations (CAWR);
• Awareness of the different types of Asbestos;
• Identifying where to find Asbestos;
• Safe Working Practices.
