Construction Phase Plan
•For notifiable projects, before construction work begins
clients must check to ensure that
the construction phase plan
has been prepared by the principal contractor
•With the help of the CDM co-ordinator, clients must
ensure that the plan is
project-specific and suitable
•Guidance on the content of the construction phase plan
is given in the CDM2007
ACOP Appendix 3
•Once the construction phase has begun, neither clients
nor CDM co-ordinators have
a duty to check that the plan is updated;
this is the responsibility of the principal contractor
